Entrepreneurship is one on of the ways to invest in people and invest in the livelihoods of communities, in order to help improve and build more sustainable societies.
Harmony Gold Mine will once again have the honour of being one of the platinum sponsors for the annual Enactus event, for the 10th year, this year.
More than 1 700 universities in over 35 countries join the international non-profit community Enactus (Entrepreneurial Action Us) – which believes in investing in students (as well as academic and business leaders) who have committed to using the power of entrepreneurial action to create better, more sustainable communities.
The initiative considers the economic, social and environmental factors of individuals and communities, and together with a strategy of applying business and economic concepts with community outreach projects, has impacted and empowered close to two million people.
The Enactus ‘Call to Action’ is directly aligned with the National Development Plan which motivates the youth to “take entrepreneurial action, in order to change the standard of living of our communities and enhance their application of business principles to capacitate them,” said Mashego Mashego, executive director of Harmony
