Brian Molefe and Eskom side stepping questions

brian-molefe2The Eskom media briefing left some journalists frustrated as the Eskom Board only presented the facts they thought relevant, and wouldn’t answer certain questions relating to coal contracts from the media, dismissing it as unrelevant questions.

Only at the end of the briefing did Brian Molefe, group chief executive of Eskom, address the media about questions around the “State of Capture” report. He said that Thuli Madonsela, former public protector, did not ask him questions about his involvement with the Gupta family.

The board wouldn’t elaborate about the other coal contracts either, saying it is client confidentiality that cannot be made public.
