Minerals Resource Minister, Mosebenzi Zwane has welcomed the endorsement by cabinet of the appointment of Advocate Thabo Mokoena, as the new Director General.

Mokoena will be taking over the reigns from David Msiza, who has been  occupying the position in the interim.

The new Director General is set to commence his duties next month. Mokoena holds an LLB degree from the University of the Western Cape as well as a Post Graduate Diploma in Law.

Minister Zwane thanked David Msiza, the outgoing interim Director General for his contribution to the department, and thanked him for his commitment and dedication to the task.
