Vega Instruments SA

Vega’s new level sensor using microwave barrier technology, the VEGAMIP 61 is especially designed for the requirements and special needs of the bulk solids industry.

sensor

Since the microwave barrier measures contactlessly, VEGAMIP has no direct contact with the medium. This is advantageous particularly for abrasive products or very high temperatures. In such cases VEGAMIP 61 can simply measure from the outside through a microwave-permeable window, for example, of ceramic or plastic.

The microwave barrier also offers many advantages over other measuring principles in the area of liquid level detection or object detection.

The microwave barrier consists of a VEGAMIP T61 transmitter and one or several VEGAMIP R61 receivers. The receiver measures the attenuation of the received microwave signal and generates a switching signal from it. VEGAMIP can be used as a maximum or minimum sensor. Its switching delay can be set between 0.1 and 20 seconds.

VEGAMIP 61 is fully integrated into VEGA's plics® concept and offers all the advantages of that modular system. The user can choose from housings of plastic, aluminium or stainless steel as well as different antenna systems and process fittings. He can thus configure the sensor precisely to his specific requirements.

Whether in bulk solids or liquids, VEGAMIP 61 reliably detects the limit level even under extreme process conditions. The sensor is also insensitive to dirt, dust and build-up.
