How do I register to become a member of the site?
- To register as a member of the site, select the register button just above the main navigation bar and follow the instructions.
- Once you have filled in all the details, select the register button.
- You will now receive a notification of your registration informing you that you will receive a confirmation e-mail.
- Check your inbox and as soon as you receive the confirmation e-mail, activate your registration by clicking on the activation link in the e-mail.
- You will now be able to log in with your selected username and password.
How do I change my password?
- To change your password, make sure you are logged in with your current login details.
- In the navigation bar just below your search engin toolbar, you will find a Settings button.
- When you select this button it takes you to your own settings page.
- On this page you are able to change your password.
- Once you've entered your new password, click save.
- The system will confirm that your details have been changed.
How do I get my company listed in the products or services section?

How does my company apply for a press office?
- To apply for a press office you could either contact our sales department or you can visit the advertise page in the main navigation bar.
- The media kit will provide you with all the necessary details regarding your booking.
What is included in the press office?
- When you book an annual contract for a press office, a company can load a maximum of 12 press releases per annum.

How do I post a blog?
- In order to post a blog, make sure you are registered as a member. To register, select the register button just above the main navigation bar and follow the instructions.
- To post a blog mouse over social channels on the main navigation and select blogs from the sub menu.
- In the right hand column just below your ‘id’ you will see a menu. Select the ‘Write a blog post’ option.
- Once you’ve completed the requested form, select save.
- A shortened version of your blog will appear on the main blog page.
- To view the full blog, select the ‘read more’ prompt at the end of the piece.
How do I comment on a news article or blog?
- You need to be a registered member of the website to be able to comment on an article. To register, select the register button just above the main navigation bar and follow the instructions.
- In order to comment on a news article, select the discuss button below the article.
- A comment box will appear where you can type in your comment.
- Once you’ve typed your comment, select the save button.
- Your comment can be viewed in the comments section below the article.
How do I vote for a news article?
- If you find a news article interesting or newsworthy and you want to vote for it, select the vote button below the article of interest. The vote button is a very distinctive orange thumbs-up sign.
- In order to vote for news articles, make sure you are registered as a member. To register, select the register button just above the main navigation bar and follow the instructions.
- A registered member can vote for any news article, but note that you can only cast one vote per article.
- Once you’ve cast your vote, you will see the vote number increase next to comments and discuss below the article.
How do I upload videos or photos?
- In order to upload a video, make sure you are registered as a member. To register, select the register button just above the main navigation bar and follow the instructions.
- To upload a video mouse over social channels on the main navigation and select videos from the sub menu.
- In the right hand column just below your ‘id’ you will see a menu. Select the ‘Upload a file’ option.
- Select “browse” then choose the video you would like to upload.
- Once you’ve completed the requested form, select save.
- To view your video, click on the image or headline.
How do I upload audio files?
- In order to upload an audio file, make sure you are registered as a member. To register, select the register button just above the main navigation bar and follow the instructions.
- To upload an audio file mouse over social channels on the main navigation and select audio from the sub menu.
- In the right hand column just below your ‘id’ you will see a menu. Select the ‘Upload a file’ option.
- Select “browse” then choose the audio file you would like to upload.
- Once you’ve completed the requested form, select save.
- To listen to your audio file, click on the headline.

Who can I contact for information on advertising rates and specifications?
- If you wish to advertise on miningne.ws, visit the advertise button in the main navigation bar or check our contact us page for the correct details.
Public and private information
- When you publish any information on the website you have the option of making it public or private.
- When you fill in the ‘write a blog’ or ‘upload a video/audio form, you will see an access field with a drop down menu at the bottom of the form.
- The drop down menu gives you three options: Private, Logged in users, Public.
- If you want only you and your friends to view the content, you select private.
- If you want all logged in users to view the content, select logged in users.
- If you want every visitor to the site to be able to view your content, select public.
Subscribe to the newsletter
- Select the subscribe button in the main navigation bar.
- This will take you to a registration page.
Fill out your display name and e-mail address and save the information.
- We will then add you to our newsletter database.
How to update your company profile
- If you want to update your profile, go to your profile page.
- Select the Edit details button in the top right corner.
- This will produce an Edit profile form. Fill in the details you wish to add to your profile and save.
- Please note that you might want to keep some of this information private.
- If so, remember to select private from the drop down menu just below the field you want to keep private.
- If you want all visitors to view the content, select public from the menu.
- If you want only logged in users to view some of your profile details, select logged in users from the menu.
- This way you can control what information gets published publicly or private.
